End of a Year

Time sure goes by fast. I can't believe a year is almost gone already. To be completely honest, I don't really know what to say... I guess I should talk about my New Year Resolutions in relation to this blog. OK! I guess that's what I'm going to do~

I know I've been a lazy blogger this year but I'm not the world's most creative person so I get a few writer's block and I've been busy with Uni (finals *shivers*) but next year I'm going to try post more consistently - at least once a month from 2015 on. Since I've recently been getting more into Asian skincare and make up I will review different brands of Asian products aside from Daiso (the only (I guess I could call it) brand I've reviewed so far).

Another blog resolution I have for my blog next year is that I will re-attempt and hopefully finish the 52 Games in a year challenge this time. I already have a few games lined up that I'm excited to play~

I hope everyone has a Happy New Year and I know it's a long wait :p but see you guys next year~

Daiso Makeup and Beauty Review #2 - Nail Topcoat Quick

Hello everyone ~

When I saw this while browsing Daiso, I knew it was a must try for me because nail polish either take forever to dry for me or the just doesn't dry at all on me ;A; Plus it was only $2.80 so it was super cheap for a top coat as all the ones I've seen costs at least double the price of this one even when on sale...

Topcoat in packaging

Back of the packaging
Out of the packaging

As you can see on the outside of the packaging, it claims to set the nail polish in 45 seconds but if you flip it over, it says it takes 45-60 seconds for it to dry the nail polish. For me it took around 50-70 seconds to it to dry my nail polish if I didn't put on a thick layer which is pretty good in my opinon. Also, this top coat doesn't make the nail polish last longer like some other top coats I've seen but considering its price I was fine with that.

Good
Drys the nail polish in approximately 50-70 seconds (for me at least, the time may vary for different people).
Cheap

Bad
Does not make nail polish last longer (Although it can't really be considered as a con because it never made any claims to do that so it's actually none unless you were really nitpicky)

Overall
If you're looking that just dries your nail polish quicker and nothing else, then this is the one for you. It's just the basic of basics for a top coat and I would absolutely repurchase as it worked well for me and was quite cheap.

I would give it 5/5 because it works well and quite good for the price.

See you in my next post~

52 Games - 1 Year Challenge - 2014 #1

Disclaimer: I did not come up with the idea for this challenge. It orignated from noegaf. Link to the post I heard about it from -  http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=743509

EDIT:  Unfortunately, I've been busy this year when I restarted my blog and was unable to finish and keep blogging about the challenge so since I'm being lazy, here is a list of games I finished this year (not much and no where near the required 52 but I will attempt it properly next year~)

1 - Harvest Moon: A New Beginning
2 -  Sleeping Dogs
3 - Payday 2
4 - Assassins Creed 2 (not quite finished but super close so I am sure I will finish it this year (tomorrow))
5 - Sid Meier's Civilization 5 (my first steam game~)
6 - Killing Floor
7 - Long Live The Queen
8 - Papers Please

aaand yeah... that's it...

The Post

I know this is really late in the year with the year close to being over but university break is coming (though it's not going to be long for me as I will be attending some summer classes at my university) so I want to see how close I can get to 52 in this period of time.

For this series of blog posts, I will post the name of the game along with the game's trailer as well as a brief description of the game and a mini review of the game.

The rules of the challenge are:
-Games must be completed in 2014
-DLCs count as one game
-Games without an ending or multiplay games, you must have put at least 10 hours into the game
-Replays are can be counted towards the total
-Have fun!

I'll start off with one game as I am quite busy with my studies right now which you can probably tell by the lack of reviews...(sorry...)

Game #1
Harvest Moon: A New Beginning (3DS)

Harvest Moon: A New Beginning is a farming simulation game where you are a new farmer and slowly improve and customise a town. Harvest Moon: A New Beginning is the first game to bring customisation to the franchise (you can customise your character's appearance as well as the town!)and it also sees the return of reverse proposals!! As Harvest Moon is one of my faveoute franchises, I naturally had to play this game.

As I said before I am short on time at the moment due to my studies so I'm going to apologize in advance for being lazy and just listing what I liked and disliked about the game (I said mini review didn't I?) as well as any weird phrasings and typo as this was just a spur of the moment idea I just had to write a post about so it's not throughly edited.

What I liked about the game:

-The dating system. I really like how you have to date before you marry as well as having to be close to other character your target is close with and that you can only date one character at a time. I think it helps the player develop a better connection with the character as you can only focus your attention on one character at a time or else your boyfriend/girlfriend will get jealous and courting two characters is like taking one step forward and two step back.

-Character customisation. I abdolutely love character customisation. I find it helps me connect better with the character as I can project an idealized self onto the character and results in me feeling a closer bond witht the character I'm playing as opposed to a character with a set appearance.

-It's a fun realxing game that can help you unwind especially after a stressful day (which happens to me quite frequently at the end of a semester haha).

What I didn't really like about the game:

-The dating system. Although I have stated above that I enjoy the dating system of this game, I wish you could pursue more than one romantically at a time as I really enjoy watching the heart events and the bond between the characters grow.

-I also didn't really enjoy the town customization much as it can be a pain at times. Sometimes when I play this game I just want to grow my town as fast as possible but this is a bit tedious with the town customizations. Because I like the houses to be as close to their original position as possible (well the starting ones anyways) the problem for me it that it is quite hard or near impossible for me and I have to carefully plan your town for all the buildings to fit and I feel that it can make the game a bit of a pain to play at times...

Oops... I've written a bit too much for the 'mini' review but that's because there are so many options in Harvest Moon and my love for the franchise. I promise my mini review will be mini next time (I might not be able to continue this series if I kept writing like this as I will probably be busy during the summer session at university...)

See you in my next post!

Sorry for the lack of posts/This bLog is NOT dead!!

Hello Hello my dear readers~ (assuming I have any...)

I've been very busy with university lately so I haven't posted for a while ;A; The good news is that I'm currently working on a post (or 2) during my free time and it will be posted within the month~

This post is rather short so let's talk about some random things as well~

Is anyone else currently studying at uni? It's quite stressful isn't it? Especially around this time of the semester with everything due. I major in Japanese for my degree and Japanese like any foreign language, is hard work... There's always something due or a test each week (to make sure we remember everything as there is a lot to learn) and as a result, I find it more stressful than some of my other subjects like more core units because there are not as many tests or things due.

Uni can be very stressful at times but whenever things get stressful or hard for me I just like to lie down, close my eyes and imagine the wonder future I will have doing the job I want and being happy with my boyfriend (and hopefully one day husband >/////<)  in the future. As long as you have a goal you know what path you're going to take so you become a little closet to your goal each day~ Let's all work hard and achive our goals so we can all be happy!! o(≧∀≦)o

Sorry for the lack of posts and the lack of pictures in this post and I will see you all soon~~

Daiso Makeup and Beauty Review #1 - Solid Fragrances - Vanilla Icecream and Strawberry Shortcake

Hello Hello eveyone~

Today I have a couple of Daiso (Daiso are these stores in Australia where everything is only $2.80 and also they have stores all over the world) solid fragrances to show you all~ First of all, these little pots come in four scents- "Rose", "Strawberry Shotcake", "Muscat Grape" and "Vanilla Icecream" but I only decided to pick up Strawberry Shortcake and Vanilla Icecream.

Vanilla Icecream on the left and Strawberry Shortcake on the right in their packaging.
The fragrances removed from their packaging.
Both fragrances opened.
Vanilla Icecream

Ice-cream is one of my favourite foods so just I had to pick this one up and who doesn't want to smell like ice-cream?

In my opinion this fragrance smells nothing like vanilla icecream at all. I was expecting a sweet milky vanilla scent but I didn't really like the scent at all. To me it smelt like one of those Ice-cream Chupa Chups lollypops (correct if I'm wrong, that was not my favourite flavour so I haven't ate/smelt one for years). As I mentioned before, I was (and still am) not a fan of the Ice-cream Chupa Chups so while the scent wasn't unplesant I didn't really like how it smelt.

I would give Daiso's Vanilla Icecream solid fragrance a 5/10 as it was ok but not unplesant.

Strawberry Shortcake

After the Vanilla Icecream fragrance I wasn't expecting much from Strawberry Shortcake and sadly, I was right... While the Vanilla Icecream fragrance smelt ok, I found the scent of Strawberry Shortcake to be terrible. I was expecting it to smell like a vanilla cake with strawberries and cream but it had a very artificial strawberry scent (and not a pleasant one like lip smackers either). The strawberry in this scent smelt kind of sour to me which I found rather odd for something that was Strawberry Shortcake scented. My biggest disappointment would be that the scent had no cake smell whatsoever (smelling like a cake shop would be so lovely don't you agree?) and I think it should have been called a Strawberry fragrance rather than Strawberry Shortcake.

I would give Daiso's  Strawberry Shortcake solid fragrance a 0/10 as it smelt horrible to me.

Overall

For $2.80 I was not expecting the solid fragrances to be amazing or anything but at the same time I didn't expect them to be bad. I was simply expecting plesant artificial smelling fragrances but that was not what I got so I won't be buying any more fragrances from this line of Daiso's solid perfumes as I found these two to be unwearable.

Hope to see you again~

UPDATE: I've been using them for a little longer now so I'm going to post an update on it. Firstly, the scent did not last long on my skin but what do you expect? It was only $2.80. Since I've gotten a little used to the scent I don't think it was as unplesant as I first thought but I still don't enjoy the scent. Another thing I did not write in my original review, this fragrance leaves an oily residue on my skin which I am not a fan of since I have oily/combination skin so be wary of that. If you do buy it, I recommend you use it in autumn/winter as it can get quite sticky and unplesant in warmer weather.

First Post/Welcome/Self Intro

Hello hello everyone and welcome to my blog~

~*~*~*A bit about me*~*~*~

I am an asian university student who is not studying to be a doctor, lawyer or engineer (I am also terrible at both maths and science XD). I am interested in various things such as food asian beauty products so that is probably what my future blog posts will be about plus catches my attention. As I mentioned before, I am a university student so there may be a couple of weeks or so where I post nothing due to things like assessment and exams but I will try to post weekly and keep this blog active as much as I can.

~*~*~*Why I started this blog*~*~*~

I started this blog so I can try and improve my ability to express how I feel. I know writing a blog is very different from actually talking with people but one step at a time. I have faith that I will get better eventually :>.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

...and I think that is all for my introduction. My first actual post will be next weekend as I am busy this week so please look forward to it :>.

Bye for now~
